If you are not already aware, Gleeson Developments Ltd (GDL) is seeking the views of local people on their recent proposal to build an additional 80 dwellings on land to the east of the present Bloor Homes development. Views will be accepted until 18th March.

Malmesbury Town Council and the adjoining parishes of St Paul Malmesbury Without and Brokenborough have agreed to cooperate and coordinate their responses to this unwanted and speculative approach by GDL, which is contrary to the Neighbourhood Plan. In order that residents of all three Parishes who wish to respond to GDL are fully briefed, it is intended to hold a public meeting to discuss the relevant issues with a view to providing guidance for individual responses.

The meeting will be held in the Wesleyan Room, Malmesbury Town Hall at 7pm on Tuesday 15th March.

You are encouraged to attend. As statutory consultees to Wiltshire Council on planning matters, the three Parishes will be strongly resisting this proposal and wish to ensure that they have the support of as many like-minded residents as possible.

Cllr John Gundry - Mayor & Deputy Chair, Malmesbury Town Council Planning & Environment committee

Cllr Roger Budgen - Chair, St Paul Malmesbury Without Parish Council

Cllr Bob Tallon - Chair, Brokenborough Parish Council
