Malmesbury Remembrance Service took place this weekend along with our guests Stéphane Cornée, Deputy Mayor of Gien and Wilfried Bockholt, Mayor of Niebull representing our twinned towns.

We gathered on Sunday morning at the Memorial Gates for the service of remembrance for the families of the fallen in Malmesbury. Then we walked to the new friendship tree grove. Our Mayor Fran Vandelli was joined by our guests, Town Councillors and Town Twinning friends.

Stéphane and Wilfried then joined the procession to the Abbey for the Service of Remembrance, joined by our other guests from Gien and Niebull. During the service they joined our Mayor in laying wreaths and speaking in the Abbey.

The memorial events concluded, as they did across the whole country, with the lighting of the beacon.
