The Deputy Mayor of Malmesbury, Councillor Julie Exton visited our twin town of Gien in commemoration of the ending of WW1.

She was joined by her husband Councillor Phil Exton representing the Royal British Legion, Mike Westmacott  of Warden & Freeman, Councillor Catherine Doody for the Twinning Association, Ethan Doyley for Malmesbury Air Training Corps, Harry Holder for Malmesbury School and Rebecca Holder for BBC Radio Wiltshire. 

Julie said the visit to Gien was a very memorable experience. It was a great a honor to be there and the Mayor and people of Gien made everyone very welcome.

This year's Annual Town Meeting will be taking place on Wednesday 24th April 2019 at 7.00pm.  This is your opportunity to meet and hear from Councillors who will give presentations on the Council's activities and to let you know about what is planned for the next 12 months.
The Mayor has written a strong letter of objection to the Boundary Commission regarding its proposal to assign the south-east sector of the Town to the Sherston Division for elections to Wiltshire Council. See the Mayor’s letter here.
The deadline for Citizen of the Year is this Friday 5th April 2019.  Application forms are available from the Tourist Information Desk or you can download here.  This is a chance to nominate a person or a group who has made a significant and sustained contribution to the local community in the past year.
