Malmesbury Town Council met on the 22nd January and one of the items discussed was the notification of charges being brought forwards to 8am.

The Council requested the Mayor to write a letter to Cllr. Bridget Wayman (Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport & Waste) This morning we received the following response from Cllr Wayman:

"Dear Councillor Vandelli,

Thank you for your letter.

There was an administrative error in the details on the map which were inconsistent with the proposal as publicised and the wording on the face of the Order.

9am is the correct start time and the error on the map will be corrected as soon as practicable.

My sincere apologies for the confusion and the error. I do know of a couple of vehicles that had Fixed Penalty Notices for parking without making a payment before 9am and they will be refunded. If you are aware of any other person who has received a Fixed Penalty Notice for parking between 8am and 9am, I will ensure they are also refunded.
