We would now like to receive nominations for individuals and for organisations/groups to receive a 2020 award. We will be making awards to those who in the judgement of Malmesbury Town Councillors have made a significant and sustained contribution to the local community in the past year.

Nominees for Citizen of the Year must be aged 26 and over, Young Citizen between 16 and 25 years old and Junior Citizen aged under 16, and the local community is Malmesbury Town and the wider area extending to Milbourne, Cowbridge, Burton Hill, Common Road, Foxley Road and Filands.

The Young Citizen of the Year Award is made in conjunction with the Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds and the winner may in turn be put forward for the Rotary Club’s Young Citizen Award.

The Volunteer 10 Years Contribution Certificate is for volunteers who have completed 10 years or more voluntary service with an organisation or a series of organisations or because they volunteer in an individual capacity.  We can receive proposals on behalf of eligible volunteers – which should describe what the volunteer is or has achieved throughout the year but recipients who are nominated by the 10th April 2020 will have the option to receive their certificates at this years Citizen of the Year Awards.

All proposals for Award winners should describe the significant and sustained contribution their nominee has made to our local community.

To propose an individual or organisation/group for an Award, please complete an application form (CLICK HERE) for Citizen of Year form and CLICK HERE for Volunteer 10 Contribution form) which is available at the Tourist Information Centre or online on the Town Council website and return it by Friday 10th April 2020.  We will need the proposers and nominees contact details and the more you can tell us in support of your nominee, the easier it will be for us to judge the nominee’s contribution.
