Malmesbury signs new Friendship Agreement with Norway!

Malmesbury and Fitjar in western Norway have formally entered into a Friendship Agreement, recognising our shared heritage dating back to Saxon and Viking times.

The link is rooted in the story of King Athelstan, the first King of England, who was buried in Malmesbury and served as foster father to Viking King Hakon of Norway.
