Nominations are now open for Malmesbury’s Citizen of the Year Awards for 2022 – 2023

The nomination forms can be downloaded below and printed off. Copies also available from the TIC, or can be emailed.  Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots.  9.00am - Tuesday 18th April 2023

The Citizen of the Year Award Ceremony will be held after the Annual Town meeting on Thursday 27th April 2023 at 7.00pm

The Citizen of the Year Awards are awarded to those who, in the judgement of Malmesbury Town Councillor’s, have made the most significant and sustained contribution to our local community in the past year. The area in which the contribution must have been made is Malmesbury, Milbourne, Cowbridge, Burton Hill, Common Road, Foxley Road and Filands.

The five Malmesbury Citizen of the Year Award Categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 26 or over)
  • Young Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged between 16 and 25)
  • Junior Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged under 16)
  • Organisation or Group of the Year
  • 10 Year Service Volunteer Contribution Certificate
  • Mayor’s Commendation Award
  • Mayor’s Life Time Achievement Award

Currently home to many famous & popular musical, cultural, and festival events throughout the year, visitors can browse the charming streets with independent retailers, or stop at one of the lively cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars.

Attractions to visit include the stunning 12th century Malmesbury Abbey, 15th century Market Cross and the Athelstan Museum with a painting of Malmesbury Abbey by JMW Turner. There are also lovely walks along the River Avon.
