Malmesbury Flood Defence Scheme

Malmesbury Flood Defence Scheme

A presentation of a community-led flood defence scheme affecting the St Johns/Lower High Street/Baskerville area of Malmesbury, will be taking place in the Town Hall

at 7:30pm on Tuesday the 11th of July.

There have been many flooding events in this area in recent years, and the expectation is that climate change is likely to increase the frequency and severity of future flooding. With this in mind, a flood defence scheme has been developed over recent years by local volunteers working with Malmesbury Town Council, the Environment Agency, and Wiltshire Council. The project has now reached the stage where provisional funding has been allocated for further development and implementation.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the scheme as it currently stands along with a timescale for future development, as well as providing an opportunity to answer questions from those affected.

We hope you will be able to attend on the 11th, but a summary of the points raised will be posted on the Malmesbury Town Council website for those who are unavailable.
