Malmesbury Town Council signs Friendship Agreement with Cherkasy, Ukraine

We are delighted to announce that Malmesbury is now formally linked to the city of Cherkasy in Ukraine as our town mayor Cllr Phil Exton signed an official Friendship Agreement with the mayor of Cherkasy Anatolii Bondarenko and deputy mayor Anastasia Chubin last night. The ceremony took place online and shows a commitment to forge even stronger links between these two amazing communities joined by friendship and not deterred by distance. As a community, we have shown support for Ukraine and we continue to honour this country, this city and its residents as they all continue to face war and conflict. This formal event took place on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day (August 24) and Malmesbury Town Council and our Wiltshire community look forward to supporting our friends in Cherkasy over the coming weeks, months and years.
