Riverside Community Centre - A joint statement from Malmesbury Town Council and Wiltshire Council

We’re writing to update you on the lease position for the building housing Riverside Community Centre and the indoor Skatepark.

As you are aware Wiltshire Council have identified the current lease agreement as unique within the county and not financially viable for Wiltshire Council in the long term and that it should exercise its break clause in July 2025. This would bring the current lease to an end in January 2026. Wiltshire Council and Malmesbury Town Council both recognise the excellent services that the Riverside Community Centre and indoor Skatepark provide and the importance they hold within the local area.

Wiltshire Council can therefore confirm that it is working with Malmesbury Town Council to review future options, with the aspiration to secure a locally led and sustainable future for the Riverside Community Centre and indoor Skatepark in the current building.
