The Future of Neighbourhood Planning in Wiltshire

Malmesbury Town Council and 31 other Town and Parish Councils have sent a joint letter to Wiltshire MPs calling for united action by them to protect the future of Neighbourhood Planning in Wiltshire.

The full text of the letter to MPs can be downloaded below.

Mayor Campbell Ritchie said: 'Following the recent decision by Wiltshire Council's Strategic Planning Committee to give permission for more houses at Filands in direct contradiction of our democratically agreed Malmesbury Neighbourhood Plan we reached our to other Town and Parish councils across Wiltshire who are likely to find themselves in a similar situation. As can be seen in the letter we have established a strong common purpose. We will now be working hard together to encourage our Wiltshire MPs and Wiltshire Council to take the steps needed to protect all Neighbourhood Plans in Wiltshire'.
