Hobbes Today: from The Lord of the Flies to The Hunger Games

Thomas Hobbes is still greatly influential in modern culture, as he was back in the 17th Century.

Dr. Vittorio Bufacchi will be explaining how Thomas Hobbes’s political thinking and philosphy, as in Leviathan (1651), is very much relevant today and an inspiration behind twenty first century works such as the “Hunger Games”.

Please go to www.thomashobbesofmalmesbury.org for more information about the Festival, location of venue and parking.

Please arrive from 7pm for the illustrated talk which will start at 7.30pm in the Garden Room of the 13th century Old Bell Hotel. There will be a hotel bar available in the Garden Room.
