Malmesbury Concert Band - Summer 2024 Programme

The following programme has been announced, so far:
· Sunday, 19th May – Stratford Park, Stroud - 1-3pm
· Sunday, 2nd June – Town Gardens, Swindon - 3-4.30pm
· Thursday, 6th June – Cuckingstool Mead, Malmesbury – D Day 80th anniversary – 8.15pm
· Saturday, 15th June – Great Somerford Fete – 4-6pm
· Sunday, 7th July – John Coles Park, Chippenham – 3-5pm
· Sunday, 21st July – Abbe Grounds, Cirencester – 2.30 – 4.30pm
A further band programme for the autumn will be announced later in the year.
The summer programme includes numbers from the Beatles, musicals, films, jazz and established favourites such as Moon River and Nine to Five, made famous by Dolly Parton.
Art Robb, MCB Musical Director said: “We are already rehearsing every Friday evening in preparation for this year’s programme. We would warmly welcome more members, especially trombone, horn, clarinet and bassoon players. Details are on our web site: www.malmesburyconcertband.org,uk.”

MALMESBURY
MALMESBURY is a vibrant, market town, steeped in history going back to medieval times. Currently home to many famous & popular musical, cultural, and festival events throughout the year, visitors can browse the charming streets with independent retailers, or stop at one of the lively cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars.
Attractions to visit include the stunning 12th century Malmesbury Abbey, 15th century Market Cross and the Athelstan Museum with a painting of Malmesbury Abbey by JMW Turner. There are also lovely walks along the River Avon.
